đź Welcoming Daisy to the Grove
Sometimes, the right glider finds you at just the right moment, as was the case mid-December.
That was the case with Daisy, a sweet girl whose story reached us through a rehoming post online. Her previous keepers clearly cared deeply for herâand what stood out most wasnât panic or urgency, but love and responsibility.
A Loving, Thoughtful Transition
Daisy had recently lost both of her cage mates, and her family didnât want her to face life alone. At the same time, they had a lot going on personally and werenât in a position to bring additional gliders home right then. Instead of forcing a situation that wouldnât be fair to Daisyâor to themselvesâthey chose what was best for everyone involved: finding Daisy a home where she could have companionship, stability, and the chance to truly settle in again. That kind of decision takes heart.
A Soft Landing with the Aetherwood Girls
Once Daisy arrived, we moved slowly and thoughtfully, just like we do with every new introduction. After careful observation and gentle steps forward, Daisy was welcomed into the Aetherwood girlsâ cageâa steady, friendly group with a calm social dynamic.
We watched closely (and yes, we hovered like anxious parents đ ), but Daisy made herself at home surprisingly quickly. Shared snacks. Calm body language. No dramatic squabbles. Before long, she was doing the best sign of all: choosing to settle inâthe kind of comfort you canât fake.
And ever since then, sheâs been doing wonderfully.
Why Daisyâs Story Matters
We love sharing the stories of joeys born here at the Grove, but Daisy is a reminder that some of the most meaningful chapters begin midway through the book. Sheâs not just âfitting inââsheâs becoming part of the rhythm of her colony, and part of the heart of the Grove.
Weâre grateful her previous keepers cared enough to put her needs first, and weâre honored to be part of her next chapter.
