🐾 The Tweedle Twins Take Flight: A Bittersweet Goodbye

✨ From Crabby Beginnings to Confident Gliders

We still remember the early days of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum—their tiny bodies barely furred, their voices crabbing louder than their size should allow. Their journey began tucked safely in a pouch beside their parents, Sue and Dave, and their high-strung sister Wendy. Those first months were filled with gentle socialization, pouch rides around town, and slowly learning to trust the warm hands that held them.

Over time, the crabby chirps gave way to curiosity. They learned that new environments weren’t always scary, and that human snuggles could be pretty great—especially when you’re carried around in someone’s shirt.

💞 Saying Goodbye, with Full Hearts

On August 11, the Tweedle Twins went to their new home.

It wasn’t an easy decision. We were deeply attached to them—not just because they were adorable, but because we had been there for every milestone. From their first wobbly climbs to their first solo pouch naps, we watched them grow. And we fell in love.

But part of being glider keepers—especially breeders—is knowing when to let go. We can’t keep everyone, no matter how much we wish we could. And we knew these two had everything they needed to succeed with a new family: confidence, curiosity, and a strong start rooted in love and care.

🌱 A New Chapter Begins — With New Names

The goodbyes were hard, but our hearts are full knowing that they’re thriving. The updates we’ve received tell us they’re settling in beautifully, just as we hoped.

Ozzy, all snuggled in with his new momma — safe, warm, and already stealing hearts 💕✨

Their new family gave them names that suit them perfectly:
✨ Ozzy (formerly Tweedle Dum, the white-tip)
✨ Motley (formerly Tweedle Dee, the standard)

Since they were still very young, they hadn’t fully learned their original names yet—so the change didn’t affect their sense of self or security. For older gliders, we usually recommend keeping their original names to help them stay grounded in familiar routines. But for joeys like these, it’s a clean and easy transition—and we love seeing who they’re becoming in their new home.

They’ll always be Tweedles to us. And they’ll always be part of the Grove’s extended family—just like all our joeys.
